That might sound obvious, but walk into the wrong holiday shop and you'll see it immediately — cheap trinkets that look good on a table and fall apart by New Year's. A child picks it out with love, wraps it up with excitement, and a month later it's in the trash.
That's not what we do at Game On! Holiday Shoppe. And here's exactly how we make sure of it.
It Starts With a Team Decision
Every single item in our shop goes through a team review. No solo decisions, no one person's taste driving the whole selection. We look at each product together and ask three questions:
- Is this a gift we would want to receive?
- Would a child want to give this to someone they love?
- Is this gift actually worth what it costs?
If the answer to any of those is no, it doesn't make the cut. Simple as that.
Our Price Point Philosophy
We keep 88% of our inventory priced under $8 — and we spread that evenly across price points so every child, regardless of budget, has real options to choose from. Gifts start at $0.50 and go up to $20, and we use real sales data to make sure we're stocking the right quantities at the right price points.
But here's the part we're most proud of: even our lowest-priced items are genuinely fun. Temp tattoos, kids jewelry, best friend bracelets, cool stickers, flavored chapstick — these aren't filler. Kids at the $1 price point walk away just as excited as kids spending $10.
Our standard doesn't change based on price. Every item has to earn its spot.
The Categories We Carry and Why
We organize our shop so every child can find something for everyone on their list:
Mom, Dad, Grandma & Grandpa — Mugs, keychains, jewelry, and gadgets. Gifts that feel grown-up and thoughtful, chosen by a child who wanted to get it right.

Anyone — This is the category that surprises people most. It's our most versatile section, stocked with gifts that work for practically anyone on a child's list. When a kid isn't sure what to get someone, this is where they find it.
The Quality Standard Nobody Talks About
There's one quality detail we made a deliberate decision about that might seem small — but it isn't.
The gift bags.
If you've ever run a holiday shop before, you know the mylar bags. You also know they rip. Constantly. Kids tugging at them, volunteers stuffing them, gifts sliding out on the walk back to class. It's frustrating, it's wasteful, and it leaves a bad last impression on an otherwise great experience.
